DENOTATION

On this album cover there is 2 kids that are wearing gas masks, they are holding hands, the kid on the left has got a yellow jumper on and the kid on the right has got a teal coat on. The kid on the left is looking at the kid on the right and is also a little taller then the one on the right. These two kids are stood in a field of grass and right at the bottom of the cover is total black. Back from the kids they are building, two very distinct building that are grey with black windows, both of the builds look quite derelict. There also more building that aren’t as noticeable. Around all these building there is a orange glow. Above the building there is a hill line. The sky is cloudy and black and orange.

The image looks like it may have been painted and scan into a computer and played about with. The reason why I think this is because there is paint splays on the top half of the cover, and starches. The band name is at the top of the cover, with wings around them, below this there is scroll with the name of the album written in it.

CONOTATION.

I would say the album cover along with the name of the album is closely related. I think this because the name is “They All Have Two faces” and on the there is the two boys, the two boys could be representing the two faces. the two gray building could also be representing this idea of having two faces as well.

Massive Attack - Angel Video

Here we have 3 stills from the music video foe the song Angel by the bad Massive Attack. Above i have put 3 stills from the music video. the first still is from the start of the video where the person in a coffin and the person thats in it reminds me of a vampire or a ghosts and looks still alive but dead. i would say that the age group for the music is around the 40/50's area because the syle of the video is like what you used to get when. The music video is is a scene from a 1932 film, "Vampyr".

Marilyn Monroe died in August 1962. In the following four months, Warhol made more than twenty silkscreen paintings of her, all based on the same publicity photographfrom the 1953 film Niagara. Warhol found in Monroe a fusion of two of his consistent themes: death and the cult of celebrity. By repeating the image, he evokes her ubiquitous presence in the media. The contrast of vivid colour with black and white, and the effect of fading in the right panel are suggestive of the star’s mortality.
