Massive Attack - Angel Video

Here we have 3 stills from the music video foe the song Angel by the bad Massive Attack. Above i have put 3 stills from the music video. the first still is from the start of the video where the person in a coffin and the person thats in it reminds me of a vampire or a ghosts and looks still alive but dead. i would say that the age group for the music is around the 40/50's area because the syle of the video is like what you used to get when. The music video is is a scene from a 1932 film, "Vampyr".

Marilyn Monroe died in August 1962. In the following four months, Warhol made more than twenty silkscreen paintings of her, all based on the same publicity photographfrom the 1953 film Niagara. Warhol found in Monroe a fusion of two of his consistent themes: death and the cult of celebrity. By repeating the image, he evokes her ubiquitous presence in the media. The contrast of vivid colour with black and white, and the effect of fading in the right panel are suggestive of the star’s mortality.

Here we have a picture oh a man who is stood on his own looking cold, the reason why I think that hes cold is because they way he is stood is scrunched up, there is mist coming from his mouth like when its a cold night and you can see your breath. I like the way the the man has been drawn especially the shadows in the face. To create this I think the artist used acrylic paints

Here we got a illustration of a sort of island that looks like its floating in space on the land there is 3 people on it, two of the people are together and are dancing on the left, and of right of it there is a person stood on there own, to me this looks reminds me a an out cast or someone who don’t fit in. In the middle of the land there is a tree. Hanging from the island there is a moon heart, star and other items that look like they are hanging from a sting. In the back ground the there is clouds, rainbows and hearts. With this illustration I like the way they island is floating and how is silhouetted.

Here we got a a drawing of a girl standing in front of a sunset and parts of her arm and face is braking away. I really like the idea of the shards of the body braking away like glass brakes. And things it something interesting to look at. I think this is relevant to my project because I maybe could use this idea do parts braking away to committee some sorts of meaning. The illustration is by Sam Weber, he was born in alaska and grew up in Deer River Ontario, Canda. He studied at College of Art and Design in Calary. After this he moved New york to extend his hobby of illustration and attend graduate school at The School of Visual Arts. Now hes got a Studio in Brooklyn, New York

Here we have an image of a surreal ghost looking dears running through I forest, the image has a boarder going to around it and it looks like its the same sort of boarder you get when your processing film photography. I would say the image is trying to express this idea of dark forests alot of surreal things happen with animals. I like the way the trees look very realistic and then the deers look very dream and sketchy. I think I could invole this idea into my work some how

This image show a forst with a person sitting on a swing. From the the person blood is dripping from them. The ground in the frost is plain white rather then being the normal brown of green. In the top right cover there is a abstact bird that’s standing a twig. To me this image makes me think of being in some ones thoughts maybe even the girl on the swings thoughts, the reason why I think this is because of the empty white space makes me think of being in some ones head. This could be relevant for my two final designs because the medium used here and the style of the illustration a has got a very earthy raw feeling to it, this could relate to my music because they both for a raw earthy feeling to them too. The reason why I like this image is because I like the way every thing has been elongated, the way empty space has been used. I like why the artist has illustrated the trees

here i this person who i believe to be a Russian design, called Tebe Interesno. i'm not sure if

that is his his actual name because his whole blog site is in russian. His work simply blown me away, the way uses photo manipulation is amazing. i've looked at all his work that he posted on his blog site and there is different things about different illustrations that i like.

with this image i really like what he has done to the top on this illustration because the whole of it is a photograph apart from there the top is, it looks like he has used a graphics tablet to draw over the top while trying to keep this colours tones the same, i would like to explore using this maybe in one of my final design.

here i like the way he has elongated the picture i think it makes a image better in making it more interesting

with this illustration i like the way he take the image of the land with the tree on and simple just turning it up side down has changed the whole image.

ProjectTwo Plus 44 band research

Plus 44 is an alternative rock band formed by Blink-182 members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. The band also includes former Transplants touring guitarist Craig Fairbaugh and the lead guitarist of The Nervous Return, Shane Gallagher.

For my new project from Mark I had to pick two songs. For the first song I was given a list of songs to pick from, to decide witch song to pick I listen to them all and witch ever one inspired me with interesting imagery is the one I picked. The one I picked was Dead Flag Blues by an artist called Godspeed You Black Emperor. The reason I picked this song is because the lyrics of the song puts loads of imagery in my head and this is basicly what I need for my story board and the two final illustrations. for the second song I could pick any song at all. The song i pick was called Bobby Marshal and the song is by a band called Fei Comodo.
